Hello, my name is Sarah Smith and I am one of the mental health counselors for the Western Dubuque Community School District. I graduated from Mount Mercy University with a Bachelors Degree in social work and a minor in psychology.  I graduated from St. Ambrose University with a Masters in social work and a school social work endorsement. Since graduating, I have experience working in the mental health field in both school and in home settings. I am thrilled to be part of the Western Dubuque School District and look forward to working with students and families to help support their needs.

As the mental health counselors for the district, we provide services at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. We work collaboratively with students, parents, school personnel, and community agencies to address academic concerns, emotional issues, behavioral situations, loss, and challenges. If you feel your child could benefit from services, contact your child’s school counselor for further information.

If you have questions regarding mental health or need help locating additional resources for support, please contact either Laura Foust or Sarah Smith for further assistance.
